Reflecting on a Fertility-Focused Year, 2024
As I continue to work through my Advanced Fertility Support Diploma, 2024 has been a pivotal year in my practice. Transitioning more deeply into the fertility and reproductive health space has been both rewarding and humbling. Here’s a look back at the incredible progress we’ve made together.
Over the past year, more than a third of my patients sought fertility support, highlighting the growing need for personalised, holistic care in this area. Of these patients, two-thirds were women, and one-third were men—many of whom attended alongside their partners. This balanced approach to fertility highlights the importance of addressing both male and female reproductive health to optimise outcomes.
Here is a concise summary of the 2024 fertility data (24 participants total):
- Gender Breakdown: 17 female (F), 7 male (M)
- 12-Week Initial Program: 16 (≈67% of participants)
- IVF Approach: 6 (25%)
- Natural Approach: 11 (46%)
- Conceived: 14 (58%)
- Carried: 13 (54% of total, 93% of those who conceived)
- Miscarried: 1 (4% of total, 7% of those who conceived)
- Followed Advice: 19 (79%)
Overall, 58% of participants achieved conception, with a 93% carry-to-term rate among those who conceived. Consequently, the overall miscarriage rate stands at 4% (1 in 24). The majority (79%) followed professional guidance, which appears to correlate with better outcomes. These figures suggest that combining a 12-week program and either IVF or natural methods may enhance fertility results, especially when participants closely adhere to recommended advice. A pregnancy could consist of one or more developing babies.
This year’s journey has reinforced my commitment to offering a compassionate, evidence-informed approach to fertility care. Each step, from optimising sperm health to regulating menstrual cycles and preparing for IVF, has been tailored to the unique needs of every individual and couple.
Looking ahead to 2025, I am honoured to continue this work, supporting individuals and couples through their fertility journeys. Whether you’re just beginning to explore your options or seeking holistic support to complement other treatments, I’m here to help you every step of the way.
